Matt has recently completed writing enough material to produce a six song Ep. The material is, to say the least, different than the instrumental style of I’ll Know to Believe in Sparrows. It has overtones of early sixties girl groups like the Ronettes and Crystals mixed with the Velvet Underground and the Everly Brothers but with textures similar to My Bloody Valentine, Dinosaur Jr., Black Tambourine and Telescopes. There is no doubt that this will be an Ep with vocals, requiring female and male harmonies to be successful. Never fear, this is the process of creativity and I/O will certainly return to instrumentals in the future.
In other news, I’ll Know to Believe in Sparrows was recently reviewed by Oliver Arditi, an insightful blogger and reviewer, for his music blog. The Lp was included in his Album Round Up. There are some other bands on this review page that should be checked out.
